Kitchen Mouse
(Highland Park) 100% Gluten Free, some items have oats. Best Gluten Free Breakfast of my life-ever!! This whole joint is gluten free! It is also vegetarian and dairy free, they do serve eggs but most dishes are vegan! I just DIE over the morro cakes!! Also lots of soy-free and nut-free options.
Crossroads Kitchen
(West Hollywood) Fancy is as fancy does, and this place is fancy. This joint may just keep you "Forever Young", it's Vegan & Gluten Free food at it's finest, plus the freshest of drinks. This is a white tablecloth sort of place, that serves phenomenal food. The food is a eclectic mix but order the crab cakes for sure! You pretty much have to make reservations any night of the week, but if your last minute you can grab seats at the bar. I also love the flatbread pizzas here!
Shojin
(Culver City) 100% Gluten Free This place goes under the radar a lot, but the most off- the- chain sushi for vegetarians and vegans. I could rave forever...The lights are always low and the food is always spectacular. Everything is vegan, organic, and gluten free. Make sure to make a reservation if it’s a weekend night. They have superb unique bubbly drinks, fun apps, and delicious desserts. Rice (Manhattan Beach) 100% Gluten Free Amazing and fabulous sushi. Over half the menu is vegan. Plus they have super awesome lunch specials. I love going here when I am down in the South Bay. Planta (Brentwood, Marina Del Rey) Amazing vegan food, great vibe and atmosphere. I love the 1,000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, the Crispy Rice, and the Pizza the most, but pretty much everything is delish!!
Rahel's
(Mid-Wilshire) Bad Ass Ethiopian food, just ask for gluten free injera, and tell them you are gluten free, so they don't serve you the dish that contains the bread with gluten! Everything is vegan and delicious! This spot is completely overlooked but maybe that's a good thing cause you won't feel rushed out. I recommend sitting at the traditional round tables to your right as you walk in. Ethiopian food at its finest, cool vibe, family owned, shared dishes, perfect place to have a good but chill dinner. The Ethiopian tea is just amazing but they won’t give you the recipe… LOVE Organic Café (West Hollywood) 100% Vegan All vegan organic Asian food. Just went here for the first time recently and I love this new place! They span a range of Asian cuisines including: Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese. Everything I have had here is delicious but you just can't beat the Tofu Crispy Rice and the Ginger Lemonade Most of the items on the menu are gluten free or can be made gluten free, as well as lots of soy-free options. Wild Living Foods (Downtown) This is also a newer spot in Downtown LA. Lots of grab and go items like bowls, salads, and juices. They do serve hot food, plus loads of coconut based ice creams flavors. I really enjoyed the vegan cheesecake.
Dune
(Downtown, Atwater Village) One of my favorite Middle Eastern & Falafel Spots, fresh and healthy, all menu items are usually gluten free as long as you don't get the bread! Kreation (Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan Beach, Marina Del Rey, Pasadena, WeHo plus more locations all over the city) Hands down the best organic juice in all of Los Angeles. I live and die by the 50 Shades of Green, plus I love the almond based vegan yogurts they sell. Moon Juice (Venice) 100% Gluten Free, some items have oats. I go absolutely crazy for the "dusts" they sell here; the power dust is EVERYTHING, and the dream dust is so tasty. Add any dust to a smoothie for just an extra $1. So many amazing smoothies and herbal products here. Café Gratitude (West Hollywood, Venice) The food is uber healthy and the deserts kick-ass. A go-to spot for smoothies, bowls, and super food salads. They have another fancier location called Gratitude in Beverly Hills that is also delicious. All India Café (Glendale & Pasadena) This recently topped my list of best Indian places in Los Angeles. All menu items are clearly labeled gluten free and vegan. All the classic Indian dishes and more. *Please don't confuse these restaurants with the restaurant with the same name in Westwood! LA Paella (Beverly Hills) This is my new favorite place! Very romantic atmosphere, and vibe is true to it's Spanish roots. Best Vegan paella I think I have ever had. Order the Vegetarian paella with water (not chicken broth) and the Bomba rice is a must! Lotus Vegan (North Hollywood) Whenever I am in NOHO this is the only place I go, it is excellent! So many great Thai options here, they even make gluten free cookies. The Tom Kha Soup here is possibly the best I have ever had. Joi Cafe (Westlake Village) 100% Gluten Free This is an all gluten free and vegan cafe. Lots of breakfast items, bowls, and smoothies. This is a great spot if you are in the area.
Sweets and Treats
Dear Bella Creamery (previously Cocobella Creamery) (Hollywood) 100% Gluten Free, some items have oats My absolute favorite gluten free and vegan ice cream shop! They also make the most amazing ice creams cakes on the planet!! New Items: Soft Serve Ice Cream and Vegan Milk Shakes Van Leeuwen Ice Cream (Culver City, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Downtown, El Segundo) They sometimes have a Vegan Apple Pie Flavor Ice Cream that is everything! So many yummy dairy free ice cream flavors, plus Vegan Ice Cream Bars. Yoga-urt (Santa Monica, Glendale, Echo Park) All vegan, almond based soft serve. I love me some soft serve so this place is a must do for other dairy free soft serve lovers. Erin Mckenna's Bakery LA (Larchmont) 100% Gluten Free The donuts here are truly the best, the cupcakes and other treats are pretty good too. Donuts are baked not fried! Everything is vegan. You can special order cakes here too. New Santa Monica location has breakfast options such as waffles, pancakes, and some other cafe menu items. Fonuts (Beverly Grove, Studio City, Santa Monic) 100% Gluten Free These all gluten free donuts are delicious. Lots of vegan options here too. These are the baked not fried kind, so you can eat more! Yvonne's Vegan Kitchen (Pasadena) 100% Gluten Free, many items have oats They sell many vegan cheeses and other items in grocery stores. They also do gluten free and vegan cake orders for birthdays, special occasions, and weddings. Yvonne is typically able to work around most food allergies. In regards to soy sauce at sushi places, it’s a good idea to get the little packets of SAN -J tamari (which is gluten free soy sauce) that fit in your pockets or purse. My sister even keeps some in her car for last minute sushi emergencies. The above restaurants have lots of gluten free options, but many are not completely gluten-free restaurants so always check if the items ARE Gluten Free or Vegan, sometimes they give wrong information or change the recipe, so please double check! Most of these Los Angeles restaurants have amazing options for gluten free, plant based, vegan, dairy free, egg free, nut free, and are food allergy accommodating! Post Last Updated 1/221/25
